In The Heart of Newcastle

Hibou Blanc is set in the stunning Sunlight Chambers, a Grade II listed building on the corner of the Bigg Market and High Bridge street built in 1902 for the Lever Brothers by nationally renowned architects W.S.Owen.

Named after the Lever Brothers’ most famous product – Sunlight Soap – this quirky building is curiously coloured and has a remarkable mosaic freeze that depicts work and honest toil. Thankfully inside is every bit as beautiful as outside, and we have been able to incorporate many of the wonderful existing features of Sunlight Chambers into the Hibou Blanc design to create a wonderful location that oozes old school style and glamour.

Our menu, lovingly crafted by our Head Chef Neil Jefferson, reflects the very best of local seasonal produce, and is changed to reflect this on a regular basis. Our menu is locally driven and flavour-led. With a strong focus on using the best British seafood available in each season, we source the best local produce to create classic dishes served simply. The food at Hibou Blanc delivers an impressive range of flavour.
